RESOLUTION

Title: Authorize Execution of Garbage Collection Contract

WHEREAS, The Borough of Hillsdale received bid proposals for Garbage Collection services in the Borough of Hillsdale on September 6, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Waste Management of New Jersey was the lowest responsible bidder and the Borough wishes to accept this bid for a five year period commencing on November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2012;

Year 1 – November 1, 2007 to October 31, 2008 $654,000.00

Year 2 – November 1, 2008 to October 31, 2009 $673,596.00

Year 3 – November 1, 2009 to October 31, 2010 $693,792.00

Year 4 – November 1, 2010 to October 31, 2011 $718,056.00

Year 5 – November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2012 $741,804.00

WHEREAS, There has been filed with the Borough Clerk the certification required by the procedural resolution adopted by the Local Finance Board on October 20, 1975, pursuant to R.S. 52:27BB-10; Based upon the annexed certification of the availability of funds, it is hereby determined that the funds required for the hereinafter authorized contract is appropriated in the Municipal Budget and there shall remain under said appropriation a sufficient balance to pay for the expenditure hereby authorized;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Mayor Dennis Deutsch is authorized to execute a five year contract with Waste Management of New Jersey, Inc., 77 Brookside Place, Hillsdale, NJ 07642, beginning on November 1, 2007, and ending on October 31, 2012.
