BOROUGH OF HILLSDALE

 

RESOLUTION

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 

Title: Authorize Participation in SHARE Grant Application

 

WHEREAS, the Borough of Hillsdale and the Municipalities of Emerson, Montvale, Old Tappan, Oradell, Park Ridge, River Vale, Washington Township, Westwood, and Woodcliff Lake have agreed to apply for a SHARE (Sharing Available Resources Efficiently) Grant through the State of New Jersey Local SHARE Program in the amount of $19,500.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the Borough of Westwood has agreed to be the lead agency in this endeavor; and

 

WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Westwood is acknowledging and accepting the responsibility of acting as applicant for this grant on behalf of the Municipalities of Emerson, Hillsdale, Montvale, Old Tappan, Oradell, Park Ridge, River Vale, Washington Township and Woodcliff Lake; and

 

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey has made SHARE grants available to assist local units study, develop and implement new shared and regional services; and

 

WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant is to promote shared services between our local units through the study of sharing of DPW equipment, services, scheduling and evolving towards environmentally friendly practices that would be beneficial to the local units; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Hillsdale that the Municipalities of Emerson, Hillsdale, Montvale, Old Tappan, Oradell, Park Ridge, River Vale, Washington Township and Woodcliff Lake do hereby join with the Borough of Westwood in applying for a grant for the purpose of a feasibility study of such endeavor.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Borough of Hillsdale agrees to provide a portion of the required local matching funds in an amount not to exceed $500.00 as its contribution to the study’s costs.
