RESOLUTION

Title: Supporting Homes for Our Troops

 

WHEREAS, Homes for Our Troops is a national non-profit, non-partisan organization of volunteers helping servicemen and women who have selflessly given to their country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries; and

 

WHEREAS, under the direction of Homes for Our Troops, a group of dedicated volunteers have built a home in Hillsdale for U.S. Marine Cpl Visnu Gonzalez, injured while serving in Iraq; and

 

WHEREAS, the work on this project was nicknamed the “Build Brigade”, a marathon three day event to erect the framing, roofing, windows, doors and siding; and

 

WHEREAS, Homes for Our Troops and these volunteers gave so much energy and hours of labor to those in need; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Hillsdale commend and applaud all those involved in the mission to provide specially adapted homes for our injured military service members.  We thank them for a job well done.
