Title: Authorizing an Agreement for Sharing Professional Staff in Case
of a H1N1 Flu Staffing Shortage
WHEREAS, the Borough of Hillsdale and its nine (9) sister communities in the Pascack Valley are committed to exploring ways to share services that will save the taxpayers money while improving and continuing the services delivered; and
WHEREAS, on November 5, 2009 the
Pascack Valley Administrators met to discuss and agreed on a proactive approach
to deal with the possibility of diminished staffing levels due to the H1N1 Flu;
and
WHEREAS, a joint solution for staffing
various municipal services has been identified through sharing personnel from
neighboring communities; and
WHEREAS, Borough Administrators are
best positioned to determine the appropriate deployment of personnel and the
associated labor contracts to assist sister communities; and
WHEREAS, the Pascack Valley Administrators
have established a sub-committee of Administrators from Oradell, Westwood and Old
Tappan to develop a contingency plan that will assist all participating
communities; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Hillsdale supports the shared services H1N1 FLU contingency staffing
PLAN effort now being prepared; and
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution shall be forwarded to all
communities in the
Council member
