Title:
Releasing Solicitor Deposits to General Fund
WHEREAS, Chapter 138 Fees require
Peddlers and Solicitors to deposit $25.00 as security for the issuance of a
Borough of Hillsdale badge; and
WHEREAS, the deposits are placed in
escrow amounts from Peddlers/Solicitors accounts; and
WHEREAS, there
are peddlers and solicitors that fail to return expired badges for a refund of
said deposit; and
WHEREAS, it has become cumbersome and
costly to maintain the escrow accounts; and
WHEREAS, numerous attempts to contact
the peddler/solicitor have failed; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, that
escrow accounts from Peddlers and Solicitors on deposit for greater than one
year after expiration be transferred to the Borough of Hillsdale General Fund.
