RESOLUTION

Title: AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A FAIR AND OPEN CONTRACT FOR

 BOROUGH BOND COUNSEL

 

            WHEREAS, the Borough of Hillsdale has a need to acquire a Borough Bond Counsel as a fair and open contract pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.5; and,

 

            WHEREAS, funds will be available by way of budget and bond ordinances to compensate said bond counsel; and

 

            WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.1 et seq. commonly known as the “State Pay to Play” law that took effect on January 1, 2006; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Borough has fully complied with the “fair and open” process set forth under N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.1 et seq.; and

 

WHEREAS, the Borough Review Team has determined that Steve Rogut of Rogut, McCarthy, Troy P.C. as Bond Counsel will be the most advantageous to the Borough; and  

 

WHEREAS, Steve Rogut of Rogut, McCarthy, Troy P.C. has completed and submitted a “Contribution Statement by Professional Business Entity” as required by Hillsdale Borough Ordinance No. 04-14, entitled, “An Ordinance Establishing a Borough Policy for the Awarding of Public Professional Service Contracts”; and

 

            NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hillsdale Borough Council hereby appoints Steve Rogut of Rogut, McCarthy, Troy as Borough Bond Counsel for the year 2010 pursuant to a “fair and open” process.
