RESOLUTION

Title: Tax Exemption - Disabled Veteran, Block 1401, Lot 9.01

 

WHEREAS, section 404.1 of the Tax Assessor's manual allows the tax assessor to grant full exemption of taxes to New Jersey resident war veterans having been declared totally or 100% permanently disabled; and

 

WHEREAS, Viznu Gonzalez, 28 Cross Street, Block 1401, Lot 9.01, purchased the property on February 26, 2010 has submitted a letter from the Federal Department of Veterans Affairs that he has a 100% permanent disability; and

 

WHEREAS, the Hillsdale Tax Assessor has reviewed the exemption application on the aforementioned property and found same to be qualified for the tax exemption; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor & Council authorize the Tax Collector to refund 1st & 2nd quarter taxes paid by Homes For Our Troops, Inc., 6 Main Street, Taunton, Ma. 02780,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,  the Borough of Hillsdale Tax Assessor is hereby authorized to exempt said property from taxes for the year 2010 and thereafter for as long as Viznu Gonzalez, or as Viznu Gonzalez’s surviving spouse, hold legal title to Block 1401 Lot 9.01.
