RESOLUTION

Title: Tax Exemption - Disabled Veteran, Block 1905, Lot 2

 

WHEREAS, section 404.1 of the Tax Assessor's manual allows the tax assessor to grant full exemption of taxes to New Jersey resident war veterans having been declared totally or 100% permanently disabled; and

 

WHEREAS, Gennaro M. Russano, 218 Liberty Avenue, Block 1905, Lot 2, has submitted a letter from the Federal Department of Veterans Affairs that he has a 100% permanent disability; and

 

WHEREAS, the Hillsdale Tax Assessor has reviewed the exemption application on the aforementioned property and found same to be qualified for the tax exemption; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor & Council authorize the Tax Collector to refund a proration of 4th quarter 2009 effective December 24, 2009 and 1st and 2nd quarter 2010 taxes paid by Gennaro M. Russano without interest.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,  the Borough of Hillsdale Tax Assessor is hereby authorized to exempt said property from taxes for the proation of 4th quarter 2009 effective December 24, 2009 and thereafter for as long as Gennaro M. Russano, or as Gennaro M. Russano’s surviving spouse, hold legal title to Block 1905, Lot 2.
