Title: Adopting
a Green Grounds and Maintenance Policy
WHEREAS, across New Jersey,
municipalities are facing rising costs at the same time as attempting to
respond to significant environmental challenges; and
WHEREAS, municipally maintained
parks, gardens and landscaped areas are some of the very sites where these
environmental challenges are met; and
WHEREAS, the maintenance of those
grounds is the operation by which some of those challenges are met, and where
costs are incurred; and
WHEREAS, effective and affordable grounds
maintenance is a function of sustainable practices that are rooted in the
principles of conservation and efficiency; and
WHEREAS, adoption of a Green Grounds
and Maintenance Policy will articulate a set of operational guidelines that
abide by those principles,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, by
the Council of the Borough of Hillsdale to adopt the Green Grounds and Maintenance
Policy.
