MARRIAGE LICENSE
 
Marriage Licenses are obtained by appointment only.  You must apply for a license no later than 10 business days prior to your ceremony.
Please call the Registrar, Denise Kohan at 201-497-1552 or Deputy Registrar, Eileen McLaughlin at 201-666-4800 ext 1562 to make an appointment - no walk-ins will be accepted.
 
Required documents you will need to bring with you for your appointment:
 
1.   Proof of identity for both applicants by presenting your driver's license, passport or state/federal ID
2.   Proof of residency by one applicant.  One of you must live in Hillsdale or your ceremony is in Hillsdale for out of state applicants.
3.   Know your Social Security Number
4.   You must bring a witness over the age of 18
5.   A check made payable to the Borough of Hillsdale in the amount of $28.00 (no cash is accepted)
 
Once you complete your application process with one of the Registrars, your license can be issued after a 72 hour mandatory waiting period.
You may pre-fill out your application prior to your appointment - however  do not sign the application form before your appointment.  You and your witness must sign the application, under oath, in the presence of the issuing authority.
