VEGETATIVE WASTE PICK UP

As a reminder when vegetation waste pick up resumes -Gaeta will NOT pick up brush or vegetation if it is not cut in 4 ft lengths and tied or placed in garbage cans for pick up on your scheduled pick up day.  If you cannot cut them or tie them, you may bring them directly to the DPW.

 Here is a list of frequently asked questions for your convenience.

 

Q: Will my garbage be picked up more than once per week?

A: YES, effective June 1, 2021 all household garbage is picked up twice per week.

 

Q: Am I required to put my garbage out on the second collection day?

A: NO, however, the five-item rule still remains in effect per collection day. 

Household furniture can be placed out for pick up with your regular household garbage. You are allowed 5 bulk items (ex: couch/chair/mattress)

 

Q: Is recycling collection on alternate weeks between cardboard/paper and cans/bottles?

A: YES, collection is on an alternate week schedule with one week being cardboard/paper and the other cans/bottles. See the calendar below for what recycling will be picked up each week.

Q: When will my yard debris be collected?

A: Vegetative waste/yard debris will be collected on MONDAY and TUESDAY based on the Zone you are located in. See Zone Listing below

 

Q: What is the last day vegetative waste/yard debris will be collected in the Fall?

A: The last day of vegetative waste/yard debris will be added to the calendar, but is usually at the end of October.

 

Q: When will metal be collected?

A: White metal will be collected on FRIDAY. White metal/other metal items must be reported to the DPW on Thursday for a Friday pickup by calling 201-358-5053.

 

 **ELECTRONICSINCLUDING TELEVISIONS WILL NOT BE PICKED UPYOU MUST BRING THEM DIRECTLY TO THE DPW FOR RECYCLING.
