Property taxes are the main source of revenue for our County, Schools and Municipal government budgets. It is the Tax Assessor's job to ensure that all property owners pay their fair share of property tax burden to fund these important functions. The Assessor is responsible for the appraisal of all properties, which include land, old and new improvements, new additions, commonly called assessments, and for defending same against tax appeals. This autonomous office must process all applications for tax deductions and exemptions.
The Borough of Hillsdale last town wide reappraisal of property values was during 2012.
